But I am starting to wind down now and enjoy some quiet time and take pleasure in the beautiful fall weather we are having here in the Pacific Northwest.
First of all, my granddaughter made it to Juneau (see picture). The pre-trip preparation and scheduling was stressful for all of us, but the trip was enjoyable and uneventful and they arrived safe and sound.
They arrived there on Monday morning and she started her new job on Tuesday morning….she is young, smart and ambitious for sure and has proven that she will be successful in all she does.
The Pink Phoenix fund raising gala was a delight and we had the best time. For a first-time event for this group, it was well done and very successful. It was great to be in the company of such strong, supportive breast cancer survivors and my hat is off to all of them for all their hard work and dedication!! I won two of the beautifully designed works-of-art bras in the auction, and I hope to be able to design one for next year….the ideas are swirling around in my head already.
I have also been involved in our local UNITED WAY campaign this year and the project had to be completed right in the middle of everything else that was going on. I have learned a lot about myself during this undertaking….I am not as young as I once was, I don’t have the energy I used to have, and my patience has left the building!! But the project is up and running and is proving to be a successful fund raiser, so that is what is important.
So now I am going to make myself a cup of tea, grab my cozy afghan and curl up on the couch with a good book for a few hours before I have to get ready to go to work…you know...the real job that pays the bills.
Still living large and waiting for my ship to come in…………Jan
