Julie started her "new favorite drug" – Zometa today ... actually new, but probably not her favorite, but certainly another new adventure in the life of 'cancer girl'. This drug is a bone-building drug that is given to breast cancer patients to help rebuild their bones that the chemo drugs may have damaged. Again, she is being a real trooper - started the day at the doctor's office with a few hours of having the infusion, then off to work for the rest of the day. Amazing, truly amazing.She is tired and worn out but mostly from sleepless nights as of late. The doc changed her sleeping meds, so hopefully she will get some good sleep in the next few nights and be able to have some more energy. She is anxious to 'get on with life' as she calls it, and is frustrated that she isn't back to normal yet. As I have told her; even though she looks amazing on the outside, all the poison that she has endured in the form of treatments, not to mention the cancer itself, has probably taken its toll on her insides and it takes time to heal.
Be patient my child .... have some chicken soup and hot tea .... take care of yourself ..... a long normal life awaits you .... and none of us will be able to hold you down .... and because of your passionate and determined personality .... we wouldn't even try.
