It is snowing off and on in Alaska and Julie is having a day of rest also. This is a big week for Julie as she will start her Zometa infustions. This drug is a bone-building drug that is given to breast cancer patients to help rebuild their bones that the chemo drugs may have damaged. She has a handle on all these side-effects of menopause, most of the time - the hot flashes are still bothersome, so she is going to adjust the medication for those. Her white blood count is down...thank God...as we were all concerned and her energy level is up, again most of the time, and she is ready for her new challenge.
We anticipate that this infusion treatment will be a 'piece of cake' compared to everything else she has been through this past year....can you believe it....it has almost been a year since her diagnosis!
We will keep you all posted on how things go with this next treatment....in the meantime...don't forget that March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month so "GET YOUR BUTT TO THE DOCTOR". Early detection saves lives.
Also don't forget to take time to smell the flowers, Jan
